Aluminium Stewardship Initiative certifies Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. against ASI Performance Standard
Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. is the second company in China to achieve Certification to the ASI Performance Standard.
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced that Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. has been successfully certified against ASI’s Performance Standard for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. is a joint venture, founded by Henan Shenhuo Group and Shenmei International investment Co., Ltd (Hong Kong). Its aluminium foil is widely used in packaging for food and drinks, cigarettes, as well as medicine and cream products.
The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The independent, third-party audit of Shanghai Shenhuo Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. was carried out by DNV GL.
