European Aluminium Congress 2019 – Call for Papers

European Aluminium Congress 2019 – Call for Papers

GDA will be holding the EAC – European Aluminium Congress 2019 in Düsseldorf on 25 and 26 November 2019, with the topic “Aluminium and Mobility”. The Congress is organized in cooperation with the Swiss Aluminium Association (alu.ch) and the Austrian Non-Ferrous Metals Federation – Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO).

Interested companies and institutes are invited to participate in the Call for Papers. The conference language is English and presentations  should be submitted in English. Abstracts can be submitted via email or website. The closing date for submitting the abstracts is 27 May 2019.

The use of aluminium in mobility applications and their solutions is one of the fastest growing market sectors. The enormous weight reduction attributable to the use of the light metal results in a positive impact on energy and resource efficiency and on the reduction of CO2 emissions in the automotive industry as well as in aerospace, shipbuilding and rail applications. Aluminium ensures high stability coupled with lightness and cost-effective and eco-friendly movement. Aluminium is therefore the material of choice in the age of mobility.
This means that in the search for innovative lightweight solutions and applications, there is increasing demand for new aluminium alloys with improved mechanical properties, such as strength and formability, and better corrosion resistance to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption and thus a reduction in CO2 emissions. The continuing and growing trend towards lightweight construction is therefore promoting the use of aluminium in a wide variety of mobility solutions.
At the European Aluminium Congress 2019, the various potential uses of aluminium will be presented together with possible further developments that will make vehicles and other means of transport of the future even lighter and more energy-efficient. Speakers and participants from OEMs, plant manufacturing and mechanical engineering, suppliers and equipment manufacturers, from universities and research institutes will discuss innovative developments, new technologies as well as strategies and the outlook for the use of aluminium in future mobility applications and their solutions. A technical exhibition and sponsorship opportunities round out the programme.
At this year’s conference there will be simultaneous interpretation into German and English.
