Euroguss 2020 is fully booked and the die-casting industry is being presented on a larger scale than ever before. The trade fair has grown in terms of both square meters and number of exhibitors, and some 750 companies will be presenting their products and services to trade visitors. The primary focus is on the exchange of expert knowledge – at booths, in special exhibition areas and pavilions, and through the conference programme of the Die Casting Conference and the SpeakersCorner. Euroguss 2020 is also offering a high-calibre supporting programme that includes the “Additive Manufacturing” and “Surface Technology” Pavilions, the special show “Research for Knowledge” and the Euroguss Talent Award.
Rheinmetall Automotive AG, a first-tier automotive-industry supplier belonging to the Rheinmetall Group, is systematically expanding its activities to include new product categories outside the automotive industry. What are the new technologies in the die casting process? What are the trends in processes and materials? What's happening at the user end? These are the kinds of questions that will be addressed at the 20th Die Casting Congress, which takes place from 14-16 January 2020 parallel to the Euroguss trade fair in Nuremberg. The congress is co-organised by the VDD (Association of German Die Casting Foundries) and the BDG (Germany Foundry Association). It attracts representatives of die casting foundries, the associated supply industry, universities and institutes.
KS Huayu AluTech is producing its first all-aluminium four-cylinder diesel engine for a passenger car diesel engine series from a German carmaker. This is the transverse version of the engine series that is now in volume production.

The Shinhwa Group, a South Korean automotive parts manufacturer, plans to establish a manufacturing plant in Auburn, Alabama. The company has decided to invest USD42m and create 95 jobs in Auburn. Alabama is home to a rapidly growing automotive cluster that produces around 1m vehicles a year and provides an estimated 40,000 direct jobs at companies within the sector.

Production capacities at SAG’s Lend site have therefore been greatly expanded recently thanks to major orders from the automotive industry.
