Multinational projects

ILA Berlin showcased the future of aerospace with a focus on innovation, new technologies and sustainability, the future of climate-neutral aviation and new mobility. In addition to traditional aerospace, ILA also showcased the special area of defence technology. Especially for multinational projects such as FCAS, Euro Male or Eurofighter the fair offered the opportunity to present high-tech and European cooperation.

Innovative solutions from the aerospace sector

About 550 exhibitors from 29 nations presented a wide range of high-tech products as well as research and development projects. Around 360 speakers discussed current aerospace issues on five stages. Central topics were climate-neutral flying, military security and the benefits of space travel for mankind.

In addition to its special products for the aerospace industry, Novelis also presented solutions for recycling of production scrap generated in the mill as well as during parts manufacturing in the overall aerospace supply chain. Novelis was also involved in the Future Lab stage programme at the ILA. Philippe Meyer, CVP and CTO Novelis Inc. summarised his contribution in the "Materials Matter" lecture series as follows: "With aluminium we achieve lighter aircraft, more robust and cost-effective manufacturing, consistent feedstock, robust supply chains and in the end circularity, also to achieve Novelis` goal of CO2 neutrality by 2050." "The show was very well attended and gave us the opportunity to have in-depth discussions with many of our customers," said Johan Petry, VP Global Aerospace & Industrial Plate.
