Irina Bakhtina Rusal’s director Sustainable Development
Rusal has appointed Irina Bakhtina director for Sustainable Development.
In her new position, Irina Bakhtina will focus on the further implementation of Rusal’s sustainable development strategy across all divisions of the company, as well as the group’s wider climate strategy aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Irina Bakhtina – experienced in sustainable business development
Previously she served as deputy prime minister of the Komi Republic and coordinated issues of socio-economic development, the formation of investment and innovation policy in the region, including in the Arctic zone of Russia, the implementation of a unified state policy in the republic in the field of industrial and transport development, as well as environmental protection and environmental safety. Prior to that, she worked for 20 years across a number of senior positions in international corporations, including as vice-president for Sustainable Business Development and Corporate Relations at Unilever.
Irina Bakhtina is a graduate of the Far Eastern State University (Vladivostok) with a degree in Journalism, having also completed the Insead Business School executive programme in Strategic Management and the externship of the Higher School of Management of St. Petersburg State University in Economics.
