Hydro doubles extrusion sites with ASI certification
Hydro has achieved ASI certification for a further 15 extrusion sites. The company is now nearing the goal of having all its aluminium extrusion operations in Europe certified to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard.
ASI’s Performance Standard recognizes the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. “Many people have put a lot of work into this. I am very pleased. But we need to keep moving forward with ASI certification because we are seeing requirements that we didn’t see before,” says executive vice-president Egil Hogna, who leads Hydro’s Extruded Solutions business area. “More customers want sustainable materials from certified suppliers.”
