Second 60-MN extrusion line at the Ranshofen site in planning

This year, a 60-MN extrusion line was installed at the Ranshofen, Austria site. Next year, investments will be made in another highly automated 60-MN extrusion line with all upstream and downstream production facilities, covering an area of around 8,000 m². The HAI Group develops into a technology leader for aluminium components for the transport sector at the Ranshofen site. Lightweight components for e-mobility are increasingly in demand. The new installation produces highly complex aluminium profiles with outstanding crash properties for all well-known OEMs in Europe.

Capacity expansion with a new 40-MN extrusion line in Cris

At the Romanian site in Cris, investments are also being made in a highly automated extrusion line with the associated infrastructure, thereby significantly expanding production capacity. In Cris, production is geared towards high-quality products for the solar, construction and industrial sectors. “With the new facility, urgently needed capacities will be developed in order to be able to support customers in their growth in the years to come, given the already very high capacity utilization,” sums up Rob van Gils, CEO of the HAI Group. Since the takeover of the Cris site in 2019, the team has almost doubled with a current level of almost 400 employees.

New logistics centre in Ranshofen

The current logistics area in Ranshofen is bursting at the seams. Therefore, a 14,000 m² state-of-the-art logistics centre with a hall, warehouse and loading area will be created at the site as early as the beginning of 2023. Several trucks can be loaded and unloaded in parallel in the loading area. A high-bay warehouse is available for customer load carriers, in which storage and retrieval can be carried out automatically. The new property will also take environmental protection into account and house a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1 MW peak on the roof.

“With the new investments and the recent investments made at our company locations, we as the HAI Group are optimally positioned to be able to continue to grow with our customers from transport, industry and construction,” explains van Gils the orientation for the next years.

Focus on sustainability

All planned investments correspond to the latest available standards in terms of environmental protection, energy consumption and safety. By using an average of 80% recycled material and primary aluminium from certified production, which is generated 100% with electricity from renewable energy sources, HAI is a pioneer in climate protection. With the sustainable alloys Sustain Al 2.0 and Sustain Al 4.0, launched in 2021, HAI offers customers a material with a carbon footprint well below the European average.

HAI has successfully set the course for the future and is positive about the coming business years.
