Coast Aluminum commissions cut-to-length line
Coast Aluminum has successfully started up a new cut-to-length line at its US facility in Kent, Washington. The line was supplied by Andritz Herr-Voss Stamco Inc and processes 0.25” x 72” wide stainless steel and aluminium and has an incoming coil capacity of 20,000 lbs.
<strong>Key elements of the cut-to-length line
The backbone of the line is Andritz Herr-Voss Stamco’s precision roller-leveller technology. The line includes a heavy-gauge and light-gauge precision leveller, both with the Punch-N-Go leveller control system. The equipment is designed to meet Coast Aluminum’s specific product requirements.
The cut-to-length line includes the proprietary electro-discharge texturing (EDT) precision roll feed system, coupled with a high-speed shear that can cut both long and short blanks highly efficient and extremely accurate. The line also allows for the application of paper or vinyl to the levelled material.
