Ball to acquire Tubex aerosol packaging plant in Brazil
Ball Corporation has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire Tubex Industria. The company operates a plant near Sao Paolo in Brazil for the production of aluminium aerosol packaging. Closing is subject to customary closing conditions. The Tubex plant includes eight extruded aluminium aerosol can lines, which produce personal care packaging for global and local customers. It employs some 300 people.
“As the demand for sustainable aluminium packaging continues to grow worldwide, this investment allows us to broaden our geographic reach,” said John A. Hayes, Ball’s chairman, president and chief executive. The plant will become part of Ball’s aluminium aerosol packaging division, and complements the company’s global aluminium aerosol and slug business in Europe, North America and Asia
Tom Giddings, executive director of Alupro, the UK aluminium packaging recycling body, looks ahead through 2024 and explains what the industry wants to see this year.
