Garmco appoints new chief executive

Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (Garmco) in Bahrain appointed Mohammed Essa interim chief executive, effective 30 March 2017. He succeeds Jean-Baptiste Lucas who leaves the company after two years in office as CEO. Mohammed Essa has been with Garmco for more than 30 years. He joined the company in 1985 as a material tester in laboratory and served in key departments such as Sales and Marketing, Operations and Quality Control. His most recent position was general manager of Operations.

Garmco is one of the largest downstream aluminium facilities in the Middle East for rolling, cutting and fabricating aluminium. With an annual production capacity of 165,000 tonnes, the company specializes in producing flat rolled aluminium products in various sizes and alloys, including sheet and coils. These products are exported to key markets around the world to over 2,000 customers in more than 45 countries.
